I was once invited to a meeting for foreigners in Williamsport, PA.  There were several Moslems and Hindus.  I was the only one from Denmark .

That meeting was a very good experience.  I don´t remember all that the guest speaker said, but his empathy was excellent as he exposed the true character of a Christian contrary to religious hypocrites, which is always very relevant in a nation like America that is flooded with religion and where many people have completely wrong ideas about Christianity.

Its topic is relevant.  I´ve met  “good” church people over here who want to be looked upon as  Christians doing much good , but are nevertheless among those Jesus could not commit Himself to, “for He knew what was in man”  (John 2:25) – i.e. He knew if anything had really happened in their hearts.  And yet they apparently “believed in His name”, but it was a fake belief, nay a modern sentimental belief.

What about you?  I´m sure you want to be regarded as a good Christian, and yet you may be among those Jesus saw as believers seen from the outside, but nothing has happened in the inside.  So what is a Christian?

A true Christian has turned away from the old sinful life and has seriously repented, i.e. changed his mind and attitude towards God and admitted  he is wrong and God is right.  And now he loves what He loves and hates what He hates.  He has realized before God his need of the Savior Jesus Christ who died for his sins.  If this is however but an empty church creed recited during a solemn church ceremony, you are not a Christian!

I´m not interested in your pious vocabulary which may include Joh. 3:16 and similar good words, -  oh, see to it that you get a real experience with Jesus Christ.  Paul says in Acts 22:6, “Now it happened as I journeyed…”  A Christian is someone with whom something has happened before God!
