I quote these 4 words out of context, but I like to apply them in a broader sense, i.e. in the sense of coming together as such.
 
They are in 1 Cor. 14:26  written in a church context about things happening according to a specific church order where "each one" has something, e.g. "a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation..." or something else prompted by the Holy Spirit.

And yet I think of their relevance to our coming together whenever and wherever we meet out of love for one another with "agape" meals where down-to- earth-matters may be discussed or you just give way for some healthy jokes and a good laughter.

But there´s more to it than that.  Christians should be keen on things that really matter about their testimony, soul winning, experiences with the word of God, or maybe even the sharing of some urgent prayer requests.
However, that kind of Spirit doesn´t always prevail.  A worldly spirit may have crept and made our coming together spiritually empty.  I´ve been to many "parties" I at first looked forward to, but I went home from those evenings, maybe late, disillusioned, empty and almost with tears.

Luther once said, that "when Christians come together without the word of God being heard, they may as well not coming together at all." - But I have also been in private gatherings (outside the church building)  where the revival air was full of God, and I witnessed how my own wife as a young girl gave her heart to Christ at such an informal "party" in Norway.

A local politician in Norway was privately led to Christ by some  co-politicians.  Next day he was in doubt about his conversion.  He met one  local believer who expressed his joy of what had happened with him.  He said, "Well, I´m not sure if it was real."  But he was met with the happy reply, "But now it´s too late.  Everybody knows of your conversion now!"

The strange thing was, that those words helped him to realize that his experience with Jesus Christ last night was real!  Oh, we pant for such original soul winning times again as the outgrowth of "coming together". -
