Denmark is one of the European countries with tough days of a heat wave unlike  any other  I´ve ever experienced.  Today it says 35 degrees centigrade which imagined ourselves in the fond (?) days in CA.

The American homes are privileged with good air condition which is a rare thing here. Our hard working fans give us some  transient relief.  Old people are taken to the hospital by great numbers severely dehydrated.

We just had our 92 years old friend, Jørgen, discharged from the hospital yesterday.  He was one of those who collapsed, but it´s not easy to make him drink 2½ litres of water every day.  Indeed babies and old people need much freely flowing liquid.  "You are our baby", we joked.

Spiritually we are at the perils of spiritual dehydration if we don´t drink. As born again children of God we were made to drink of His Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13), but the urge to constantly drink and be filled again and again with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18), can be dangerously replaced with false drinks from "a different spirit" (2 Cor. 11:4) leading to spiritual collapse despite some outward "fair show in the flesh" (Gal. 6:12) so common in the church.

Drink, drink, drink the Spirit cries, and the thirsty soul responds, "As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God".  That thirst is prompted by God, and happy are you if you respond to that gracious prompting as His true answer to spiritual dehydration, the fullness of which is the glorified Lord Jesus Christ brought about by His Spirit, Joh. 7:37-39.

So look to Him, let the Christ of the Bible counteract the poisoned cups of the world, including the religious world, preach Him to your own soul (as David often did when he said, "Bless the Lord, O my soul") and then preach Him to others one-on-one.  Be more Christ conscious than church conscious when you get involved with a lost, dehydrated soul.
