A word of greeting to my American intimates, and to others too.

There has been some lapse of time now since you´ve heard from me.  In poetry maybe, but to most people poetry is not "in", so I´ll now share some relevant thoughts to you, since I owe the U.S. so much.

Do notice what 2 Kg. 2:14 says, "Where is the Lord ..." - not where is Elijah?  This is our cry also.  The need of the hour is not poor man, but GOD!  "Seek the Lord and His strength" (Psa. 105:4), not the strength of the flesh (Jer. 17:5-8), and not the strength of good old Trump however much good he may do to bring America back on an even keel.

In America I noticed that the Christians are prone to talk about their churches rather than about Christ.  "What church do you go to?" I´m often asked.  That´s very human.  But the real challenge is, How is your relationship to Jesus Christ?  Are you His ambassador and witness?

The need is Christ related people rather than church related members.  I once met an old woman in Yakima, WA.  She said to me, "You should be Christ to your surroundings!"  Nobody has ever said something like that to me.  But I got her point.  My surroundings should see Jesus shining in me and from me  (2 Cor. 4:6), not just see an eloquent churchgoer.

If good church manners prevail instead of passion for souls, we are not really asking "Where is the Lord?" for His heart goes out to the lost and not to the prestige of church programs.  I just talked to a pastor of a bible believing church on the island of Bornholm in the Baltic, but still part of Denmark.  I enquired about one of my spiritual children, an Iranian, who trusted Christ last year, but is now on a refugee center on that island.

I was very much encouraged about his spiritual progress and like to say with John, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth!"  (3 John, v.4).
It is the God who pants for the lost we pant for too,  not just for religion.
