I wish you would bear with me for just a brief moment.  I don´t expect you to understand me, and yet I want to share my heart with you.
It´s about our unity and I contend that God has but one undivided people,  as proclaimed throughout the whole New Testament called "the church (ekklesia) of God which He purchased with His own blood." Acts 20:28.

Am I blind to the fact that God´s people go to many "churches" by different names?  No, but I´m learning to meet God´s people as part of that body (church) trying to hold forth our unity in Christ.

I once saw a  drawing illustrating that.  It showed various Christians at Heaven´s gate.  A "supervisor" inquired of their "name".  There were Baptists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Pentecostals, etc. etc.  In each case the individual "party members" were asked to go to this and that door with their denominational sign on it.  The drawing then showed those Christians walking to those doors each on their own denominational path.

However, as soon as they walked through those doors they suddenly found themselves walking on just one glorious path as one united people drawn to the one Lord of glory.  Very illustrative, don´t you think?

Now, you may say, how do you go about it, Jørn?  I have no fear of  contact with Christians belonging to different church groups.  I want their fellowship, but I´m not a member of any organization.  I believe that my home should be a place for spiritual fellowship with members of the same body, but I´m not announcing another "Jørn´s church".

The Lord taught us to love His body by lifting up Christ  ("Him we preach!", Col. 1:28)  in our midst (Mt. 18:20), not making it a "system" or a sticking point which may soon become "an opportunity for the flesh"  (Gal. 5:13).

I say like George Whitefield, "Let my name perish, but Christ be glorified!"
