I wish I could "change my voice" (Gal. 4:20) by way of encouragement to my brethren, the English speaking "species" not the least!

Imagine being in a situation where you try to change your language all the time, in this case in Norway where I try very hard to speak Norwegian, but I can´t fool the Norwegians, and they smilingly say, "We can tell you are Danish!"

Yes, just like it is over there in the States.  They are extremely polite and comment on my accent adding, "Do keep your charming accent!"

I believe the Lord uses small things like that.  My Danish background and accent open up friendly contacts for sharing what I´m really here for, viz. sharing with the people the good news of the gospel.  I´m not on fertile ground, for the worship of modern idols rules out God, and yet He, the Holy Spirit,  puts the right words on my lips (Luke 12:12) like He wishes to do with you.

My small "gospel card" will by Sept. have another simple text in the same handy size, this time with the American and Danish flag on it, side by side, and it´s such a privilege to count myself an ambassador for Christ by grace and by His merits.  May these days in Norway be a glorious prelude to "operation USA" in September.

O, let us give ourselves to that gospel ministry.  I´m sure you agree with me that you wouldn´t wish another calling to walk in and walk by (Eph. 4:1).  I don´t envy the position of the Norwegian King nor the power of the American president.

"Onward Christian soldiers..." and let us not "quench the fire of the Spirit" (1 Thess. 5:19, NIV), but let us by faith resist the devil.  Remember he is a liar, nay a subtle, religious liar.  Our best weapon is the gospel itself and a gospel life!  An orthodox, well worded creed will not do!
