My soul God filled with awe
for what Christ has done,
In Him I have found that door
through which every one
may have His salvation
when trusting that grace
that makes you and I repent
and Christ as Lord embrace!

The sins of my boyhood
did fill me with shame,
for Christ I with scorn withstood,
I willed Satan´s game!
Yet Christ was the stronger,
He thus overcame
my will so I could no more
resist His pow´rful Name!

Because much forgiven is
to Christ I avow
my love for I´m fully His
and worthless is now
what this age may offer
of short-lived joys like hay,
in Christ I fulfillment find
that doesn´t pass away!
