Our Father, what a joy it is
with saints who´re gathered here
your Son and all you own as His
to worship without fear!

We ourselves of Him avail
as needy as we are,
His faithfulness will never fail,
it never failed so far!

Religious motions will not do
nor any outward form,
and yet the Spirit does renew
our hearts to bless and warm!

The lifeless letters will but kill,
but when they´re made alive
by our Triune God they will
our fellowship revive!

O, what a great and royal gift
His Holy Spirit is,
His mission is Christ to uplift
to show us all of His!

For our devotion He does long
to trust Him day by day,
in our weakness we´re made strong
in bodies made of clay!
